Acclaimed stage and screen actress Lesley Manville has revealed that she is considering doing a play with award-winning French actress Isabelle Huppert.
Manville was speaking whilst promoting her starring role in new movie Mrs Harris Goes To Paris, based on Paul Gallico’s 1958 book about a 1950’s cleaning lady in London who dreams of owning a Dior dress, and goes to Paris on the adventure of a lifetime.
The movie co-stars Isabelle Huppert, Lambert Wilson, Alba Baptista, Lucas Bravo, Ellen Thomas, Rose Williams and Jason Isaacs..
Lesley told the Daily Mail that she got on so well with the legendary Isabelle Huppert that they are thinking of doing a play together. Manville said: “She’s got such style, which appeals to me, because we both love clothes.”
There’s little detail on what play, or where, although we are hearing that London is the preferred location, if theatre availability and the actresses busy schedules can be aligned.
Expect something fiery and intense for these two actresses at the top of their games!
Later this year Lesley Manville will play Princess Margaret opposite Imelda Staunton as The Queen in the next chapter of Netflix’s blockbuster series The Crown. She is also cast in the Dangerous Liaisons prequel for Starz, playing Genevieve de Merteuil, alongside Alice Englert as a young Camille and Nicholas Denton as a young Pascal Valmont. Also in the cast are London stage regulars Claire Higgins and Maria Friedman.
Manville’s most recent London stage outings include Talking Heads at the Bridge Theatre and The Visit at the National Theatre.
