The producers of West End musical & Juliet at the Shaftesbury Theatre have announced new cast members for the show.
Tom Francis, who recently starred in the acclaimed Hope Mill Theatre production of Rent, will play Romeo in the musical, joined by Julius D’Silva (What’s New Pussycat?) as Frenchman Lance.
As previously announced, Keala Settle, star of the global smash hit movie The Greatest Showman, will also join the cast as Nurse. Keala.
The new cast will join & Juliet on 29 March 2022 at the Shaftesbury Theatre, where the show recently extended its booking period through until 24 September 2022.
Miriam-Teak Lee who plays Juliet, and who won the Olivier Award for Best Actress in 2020 for her performance in the show, continues to lead the cast, with Cassidy Janson, who also won an Olivier Award for Best Supporting Actress as Anne Hathaway, Oliver Tompsett as William Shakespeare, Tim Mahendran as Francois and Alex Thomas-Smith as May.
David Bedella as Lance, Jordan Luke Gage as Romeo and Melanie La Barrie as Nurse will continue their performances until Saturday 26 March.
The new ensemble includes Ebony Clarke, Bessy Ewa, Collette Guitart, Cassandra Lee, Nathan Louis-Fernand, Zara Macintosh, Carl Man, Christian Maynard, Rachel Moran, Owen Saward, Aaron Shales, Benjamin Terry and Suki Wong, who join Ivan De Freitas, Rhian Duncan, Alex Tranter, Sophie Usher and Rhys Wilkinson who continue with the show.
& Juliet is the joyous new musical which won 3 Olivier Awards and 6 Whatsonstage Awards. The show features dozens of pop anthems by legendary songwriter Max Martin, including Baby One More Time, Since U Been Gone, Roar, It’s My Life, I Want It That Way, and Can’t Stop the Feeling! The show also includes the brand new song One More Try, written especially for the show by Max.
The show is directed by Luke Sheppard (In the Heights, Rent and What’s New Pussycat?) with a story by David West Read (Netflix’s Schitt’s Creek), electrifying choreography from Jennifer Weber and stunning set design from Soutra Gilmour.
