Expecting in London

A reunion eight years in the making: John Bradley and Joe Dempsie last shared a stage as Samwell Tarly and Gendry, two men who spent most of Game of Thrones a continent apart and half-frozen. Now, they’re swapping the Wall for nursery decisions, in a much warmer climate in the new comedy Expecting.

They’re joined by Katie Leung, stepping out of Bridgerton’s ballrooms, and Jamie-Lee O’Donnell, bringing the same deadpan instinct that made her Michelle unmissable in Derry Girls. The whole thing is a world premiere, opening Riverside Studios’ new Mainstage season, and it’s only sticking around for eight weeks before the doors close on 27 March.

A reunion that’s already making headlines

Scott Elmegreen and Drew Fornarola‘s script follows two couples working out, from very different vantage points, whether having kids is a leap worth taking. Andy Sandberg directs, here and across all five productions in Riverside Studios’ Mainstage season as its Artistic Director, alongside running the Hermitage Artist Retreat in the US.
