Starring Amy Lennox & Rachel Tucker
The production brings together two of the West End’s most formidable talents for the first time.
Rachel Tucker, a fan-favourite renowned for her record-breaking turns in Wicked and her Olivier-nominated performance in Come From Away, takes on the role of the sharp-witted Louise.
She is joined by Amy Lennox, whose West End credits include her Olivier-nominated roles inCabaret at the Kit Kat Club in London, and Kinky Boots in the West End.
A powerhouse creative team
Directed by Tony Award nominee Trip Cullman (Choir Boy), the musical features an original score with music and lyrics by Grammy-nominated indie-rock icon Neko Case.
The story follows Louise (Tucker) and her best friend Thelma (Lennox) as a spontaneous weekend getaway turns into a high-stakes escape from the law. Following a life-altering encounter at a roadside bar, their bond becomes unbreakable as they embark on a last-chance adventure across the American West.
Callie Khouri, the film’s original screenwriter who is heavily involved in this new stage iteration, expressed her excitement for the collaboration:
“I’m thrilled to be collaborating on this newly re-imagined story. It’s still a wild and emotional ride made even better by the contribution of the enormous talents of Neko Case, Trip Cullman and our amazing creative team.”
Meet the creative team:

A necessary story for 2026
The musical arrives in London 35 years after Ridley Scott’s original film starring Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis redefined the “road movie” genre. Producers Sonia Friedman and Imogen Brodie emphasised the enduring urgency of the narrative, stating:
“Callie Khouri’s groundbreaking film sparked a vital and urgent conversation around violence against women and girls, and women’s autonomy in the face of systemic injustice. Astonishingly, nearly 35 years later, we find ourselves in a world where human rights are under serious threat, making this story feel not only relevant but necessary.”
At its heart, the producers noted that the show remains a celebration of “freedom, solidarity, and friendship,” reimagined as a “visceral and rollercoaster of a night out” specifically born for the live theatrical experience.
Is Thelma & Louise West End bound?
Given that West End and Broadway impresario Sonia Friedman Productions (Paddington, The Book of Mormon) is a co-producer on the show, Thelma & Louise is already heavily tipped for a West End transfer following its strictly limited run at The Young Vic.
