West End favourite Ashley Gilmour (Les Misérables, Miss Saigon) has taken the principal role of Raoul in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera in London.
Ashley has joined the principal cast at His Majesty’s Theatre after playing Hairdresser and first cover for Raoul in the show.
Ashley’s other stage credits include Austenland, My Fair Lady, Evita, Les Misérables and Miss Saigon.
The Phantom cast changes took place on 2 March 2026, and also saw Beatrice Penny-Touré (Les Misérables Arena World Tour, Mary Poppins) join the cast as Christine Daaé, until 9 May 2026.
The cast of The Phantom of the Opera also features Dean Chisnall as The Phantom, Joanna Ampil as Carlotta Giudicelli, Martin Ball as Monsieur Firmin, Adam Linstead as Monsieur André, Helen Hobson as Madame Giry, Bradyn Debysingh as Ubaldo Piangi and Millie Lyon as Meg Giry. At certain performances the role of Christine Daaé will be played by Colleen Rose Curran.
Phantom extends in London
Last week, Cameron Mackintosh’s long-running West End production of The Phantom of the Opera, which is now in its 40th year in the West End, extended its London run to 13 March 2027.
The Phantom of the Opera features music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, lyrics by Charles Hart, additional lyrics by Richard Stilgoe, and a book by Richard Stilgoe and Andrew Lloyd Webber, based on the novel ‘Le Fantôme de l’Opera’ by Gaston Leroux.
The show was originally directed by Harold Prince, and this West End production is directed by Seth Sklar-Heyn.
