StarKid are officially returning to London — and this time, they’re bringing a full musical with them. The cult internet theatre company will present The Guy Who Didn’t Like Musicals in the West End, running at the Apollo Theatre for a strictly limited season from 14 to 30 May 2026.
The American company, best known for its online musicals, will bring its Hatchetfield horror-comedy to the West End for a strictly limited season.
Best known for its online musicals and devoted global following, the American company arrives in London off the back of two recent sell-out appearances at the London Palladium: It’s StarKid Innit and I Can’t Believe It’s Been A Little Less Than A Year.
Originally staged at the Matrix Theatre in Los Angeles, The Guy Who Didn’t Like Musicals quickly amassed a dedicated global fanbase after the full recording was uploaded to YouTube in 2018, where it has now reached more than 9.4 million views. The show follows office worker Paul Matthews, whose quiet life is upended when an alien presence transforms his town into an all-singing, all-dancing nightmare. Blending sci-fi, comedy and musical theatre, it remains one of StarKid’s most recognisable titles.
The West End production will feature a refreshed staging and members of the original cast, including Jon Matteson, Joey Richter, Jeff Blim, Jaime Lyn Beatty, Mariah Rose Faith Casillas, Corey Dorris and Lauren Lopez. The production is directed by Lauren Lopez, written by Nick & Matt Lang, with music and lyrics by Jeff Blim and choreography by James Tolbert.
