Further casting has been revealed for the forthcoming new UK and Ireland tour of Agatha Christie’s Death on the Nile.

Already announced is Mark Hadfield (Belfast, Into the Woods, Outlander), who will star in Agatha Christie’s classic murder mystery as famous Belgian detective Hercule Poirot.

Mark Hadfield will be joined by Glynis Barber (Dempsey and Makepeace, Hollyoaks, The Outpost) as Salome Otterbourne and Bob Barrett (Holby City, Shakespeare in Love, Murder on the Orient Express) as Poirot’s trusted friend, Colonel Race.

Further casting is to be announced.

The European premiere of Ken Ludwig’s new stage adaptation of Agatha Christie’s whodunit Death on the Nile is touring the UK and Ireland in 2025 and 2026.

The production reunites director Lucy Bailey (Witness for the Prosecution), writer Ken Ludwig (Crazy For You) and producers Fiery Angel (War Horse), following their successful productions of Christie’s And Then There Were None and Murder on the Orient Express.

The tour starts at The Lowry theatre in Salford in September 2025, before touring to London Richmond (7 – 11 October), Chichester, Cheltenham, Malvern, Aberdeen, Glasgow, York, Sheffield, Edinburgh, Brighton, Birmingham, Nottingham, Dublin, Belfast, Norwich, Cambridge, and Plymouth. This iconic play from Agatha Christie’s phenomenal body of work keeps audiences on the edge of their seat and I can’t wait to be part of a cast that will bring this gripping drama to theatres all over the UK and Ireland.”

Bob Barrett said, “To have the chance of being in one Agatha Christie tour, getting to work with the incomparable team of Lucy Bailey and Fiery Angel, was special. To get to be in three is a great privilege I shall never forget.”

Death on the Nile is set on board a luxurious cruise under the heat of the Egyptian sun. A couple’s idyllic honeymoon is cut short by a brutal murder, and as secrets that have been buried in the sands of time finally resurface, can the world-famous detective Hercule Poirot untangle the web of lies and solve another crime?

Joining Lucy Bailey in the creative team are set and costume design by Mike Britton, lighting design by Oliver Fenwick, sound design by Mic Pool and movement direction by Liam Steele. Lucy Waterhouse will be associate director and Helena Palmer is casting director.
