Award-winning stage and screen star Brian Cox (Succession) has postponed his upcoming 18-date UK and Ireland tour of Brian Cox – It’s All About Me! after admitting the October launch was “too soon” following a hectic year.
The Emmy and Golden Globe-winning actor was due to open the one-man show on 1 October 2025 at the Royal & Derngate Theatre, Northampton, with further performances at venues in Bristol, Ipswich, Edinburgh, Dublin, Belfast, Dundee, Brighton, Nottingham, Oxford, Plymouth, Southend, Bournemouth, Newcastle, Liverpool, Manchester, and York.
The show was due to culminate at the West End’s Adelphi Theatre in London on 4 November 2025.
Speaking to BBC Newscast this week, Cox said he had been “very busy” and “tired” after an intense run of work, including performing in James Graham’s new play Make It Happen, and preparing for the world premiere of his directorial debut Glenrothan at next month’s Toronto International Film Festival.
“I just thought ‘I’ll do it some time’ – October is just too soon,” said the 79-year-old Scottish actor, who trained at Dundee Rep and has performed with the Royal Shakespeare Company, Royal National Theatre and Royal Lyceum Theatre.
Venues will contact ticket-holders, and the production is hopeful the tour will be rescheduled for 2026.
Cox is best known for his role as media mogul Logan Roy in HBO’s Succession, as well as for film credits including Manhunter, and acclaimed stage performances including King Lear.
It’s All About Me! is billed as an intimate evening of storytelling from one of Britain’s most celebrated actors, charting his life on stage and screen. In Act Two, Brian was to be joined on stage by producer Clive Tulloh, putting questions to him from the audience.
This summer Brian Cox has been starring in the National Theatre of Scotland’s world premiere production of James Graham’s new play Make It Happen, about the rise and fall of The Royal Bank of Scotland, led by Fred ‘The Shred’ Goodwin. There is much buzz that the production may transfer to the West End.
Brian Cox’s recent West End productions include The Score at the Theatre Royal Haymarket, and Long Day’s Journey Into Night at the Wyndham’s Theatre with Patricia Clarkson.
