Acclaimed international director Yaël Farber (King Lear, Macbeth) directs a major new production of Shakespeare’s The Winter’s Tale for the Royal Shakespeare Company.

When a king’s obsessive jealousy leads to a devastating series of acts, the journey toward healing must begin, led by time, truth, and the hope of forgiveness. From the shadowy dystopia of Sicilia to the untamed beauty of Bohemia, immerse yourself in Shakespeare’s most mysterious play.

A hugely talented cast includes Kathryn Hunter (Harry Potter films, Black Doves, Andor) as Autolycus/Time, double Olivier Award and Tony Award-winner Bertie Carvel (Matilda The Musical) as Leontes, Madeline Appiah (Macbeth) as Hermione, Aïcha Kossoko (Kyoto) as Paulina and John Light (In the Company of Men) as Polixenes.

The Winter’s Tale is playing at the RSC’s Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon from 12 July to 30 August 2025.
