The producers of new musical Wild Rose, based on the hit movie, are in talks to bring the show to London’s West End following a successful run in Edinburgh
Written by Nicole Taylor (One Day, Three Girls, The C Word) and directed by John Tiffany (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Black Watch), Wild Rose played the Royal Lyceum Theatre in Edinburgh in March and April.
The new musical, which is based on the 2018 film directed by Tom Harper and starring Jessie Buckley (Cabaret), Julie Walters and Sophie Okonedo, won rave reviews in Edinburgh.
Producers eyeing a West End run are Faye Ward of Fable Pictures, Patrick Daly at Caledonia Productions and Gavin Kalin at Totally Theatre Productions.
According to Deadline, negotiations to find a West End home for the show are underway, with Faye Ward saying that she hopes “we can bring it to London in the not-too-distant future.”
