A West End debut for a ballet star. Tiler Peck, principal dancer with New York City Ballet and star of Prime Video’s Étoile, takes the lead as Marie van Goethem, the real girl behind Edgar Degas’s famous sculpture. Written by the team behind Ragtime and Anastasia. Tony and Olivier winners Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty provide the score. Directed by a five-time Tony and Olivier winner. Susan Stroman, of The Producers and Crazy for You, directs and choreographs – in town for six weeks only.

Already turning heads

Ahead of its West End premiere, Little Dancer has already drawn notice from critics, called “a breathtaking new musical” by Manhattan Digest, “ravishing” by the Washington Post and “scintillating” by Variety. The cast also includes Olivier nominees Julian Ovenden (Downton Abbey, South Pacific), Laura Pitt-Pulford (Standing at the Sky’s Edge) and Josefina Gabrielle (Chicago).

Performances are from 15 February to 27 March 2027 – with only 47 performances before the production tours the world, and a cast led by one of ballet’s biggest names making her West End debut, early booking is essential.

Set in the harsh backstage world of the Paris Opera Ballet, Little Dancer is inspired by the story of Marie van Goethem, the young ballerina who posed for Edgar Degas and became the most famous dancer in the world. As Marie navigates poverty, ambition, and the challenges of being a young woman in a man’s world, she becomes the heart of one of the most celebrated artworks in history.
