More casting has been announced for the forthcoming West End concert production of hit Broadway musical IF/THEN.

Playing the Savoy Theatre on 10 February 2025, IF/THEN is written by Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winners Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey, the writers of Next to Normal.

Already announced are West End stars Kerry Ellis (Wicked, 101 Dalmatians The Musical, Anything Goes, We Will Rock You) playing the lead role of Elizabeth; and David Hunter (Waitress, Kinky Boots, The Time Traveller’s Wife) as Lucas.

Announced today, Kerry and David will be joined by acclaimed actor Adam Garcia (Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, The Serpent Queen, Wicked) as Josh.

The cast will also include Preeya Kalidas (Bombay Dreams, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat) as Kate, Tim Howar (Rock of Ages, On The Town) as Stephen, Jenny Fitzpatrick (Oliver!, A Christmas Carol) as Anne, Carl Man (Wicked, Death Note) as David, and Joni Ayton-Kent (Priscilla The Party, Dead Hot) as Elena.

The ensemble will include Christian Maynard (Miss Saigon, & Juliet), Kayleigh Thadani (Crazy for You, Cats), Lauren Hall (Mamma Mia!, Sister Act) and Sario Solomon (Grease, Pacific Overtures), M-Jae Cleopatra Isaac (Hairspray, The Book of Mormon) and Danny Becker (Chicago, Disney’s Frozen).

Directed by Bill Buckhurst (101 Dalmatians The Musical; Sister Act; The Time Traveller’s Wife), the musical staging is by Alistair David (Kiss Me, Kate; Show Boat), with music direction from Michael England (The Phantom Of The Opera; Les Misérables).

IF/THEN explores the complexities of chance, choice and consequence, following a 38-year-old city planner called Elizabeth, who returns to New York after twelve years, ready to rebuild her life in the wake of a recent divorce.

Kerry Ellis said in a statement: “I am so excited to be involved in this wonderful project—what a dream! The music is stunning, and the story is extremely touching; experiencing it at The Savoy Theatre will be magical. Playing the role of Elizabeth, a strong, modern, working woman faced with everyday real-life choices and decisions that are universally relatable to audiences, is particularly thrilling. I cannot wait!”

David Hunter said: “I remember how excited I was when I first heard the cast recording of IF/THEN. It represents so much of what I love about Musical Theatre with its sincere, heartfelt and beautifully crafted music and lyrics. I can’t wait to get my teeth into it, especially alongside this phenomenal cast!”

Lyricist Brian Yorkey said: “I’m thrilled that West End audiences will get to experience IF/THEN in concert. It’s a show and a set of songs that are very personal to Tom and me, and we’re honoured to have this group of fabulous singers bring them to life.”

Composer Tom Kitt said: “IF/THEN is a very special and personal show, filled with some of my favourite songs that Brian and I have written together. I couldn’t be more thrilled that it will be having its UK concert debut with this phenomenal group of artists, led by the incredible Kerry Ellis.”

Kerry Ellis is also starring in The Westway Sessions at the Vaudeville, bringing her acclaimed show Queen of the West End to the Vaudeville Theatre on 17 March 2025.

IF/THEN is playing at the Savoy Theatre on 10 February 2025.
