West End musical Hadestown has announced new casting for the show.
Last month the show revealed that Dónal Finn (Amazon Prime’s The Wheel of Time), who plays Orpheus, and Grace Hodgett Young (Sunset Boulevard) as Eurydice, would be leaving on 25 August 2024.
Joining the company on 27 August 2024 will be Dylan Wood (No Love Songs, Orphans) as Orpheus, and switching roles will be Madeline Charlemagne (The Secret Life of Bees, 42 Balloons), who has played a Fate since the start of the West End production, and will now play Eurydice.
Also, Francessca Daniella-Baker (My Fair Lady, Joseph) will join the cast of the three fates, alongside Allie Daniel and Bella Brown.
The West End company of Hadestown also stars Grammy Award-winner Zachary James (The Addams Family) as Hades; Melanie La Barrie (& Juliet) as Hermes; and Gloria Onitiri (Cinderella) as Persephone.
The Workers are played by Lauren Azania, Tiago Dhondt Bamberger, Beth Hinton-Lever, Waylon Jacobs, and Christopher Short; and Swings are Lucinda Buckley, Winny Herbert, Ryesha Higgs, Ediz Mahmut, Miriam Nyarko, Brianna Ogunbawo and Simon Oskarsson.
The show recently extended its dates by a month, from 5 January 2025 to 9 February 2025.

Hadestown has music, lyrics and book by Grammy winning singer-songwriter Anaïs Mitchell, and is directed by Tony Award winner Rachel Chavkin (Mission Drift, Hadestown on Broadway).
The Hadestown creative team also features David Neumann (choreography), Rachel Hauck (scenic design), Michael Krass (costume design), Bradley King (lighting design),Nevin Steinberg and Jessica Paz (sound design), Liam Robinson (music supervision and vocal arrangements), Michael Chorney and Todd Sickafoose (arrangements and orchestrations), Ken Cerniglia (dramaturgy), Maria Crocker (UK Associate Director), Tarek Merchant (Musical Director), Jacob Sparrow (London casting).
The musical got great reviews from the London theatre critics when it opened in February 2023.
The show first premiered at the National Theatre in 2018, and has gone on to enjoy a successful run on Broadway where it won 8 Tony Awards including Best Musical, and a Grammy Award for Best Musical Theatre Album.
The musical intertwines two mythic love stories – that of young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice, and that of King Hades and his wife Persephone. Billed as a deeply resonant and defiantly hopeful theatrical experience, Hadestown blends modern American folk music with New Orleans-inspired jazz.
Hadestown is booking at the Lyric Theatre to 9 February 2025.
