Smash-hit musical The Book Of Mormon is celebrating its 11th birthday in London’s West End today!
The Olivier and Tony Award winning Best New Musical from the creators of South Park officially opened to critical acclaim on 21 March 2013 at the Prince of Wales Theatre in London, having begun preview performances on 25 February 2013.
The original West End cast was led by Broadway actors Gavin Creel and Jared Gertner as ‘Elder Price’ and ‘Elder Cunningham’ – who reprised the roles from the North American touring production.
Now firmly established as one of London’s top West End shows, The Book of Mormon marked another milestone in December 2022 when it became the 17th longest running musical in West End theatre history overtaking Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s 1972 production of Jesus Christ Superstar at the Palace Theatre and the 1985 revival of Me and My Girl at the Adelphi Theatre starring Robert Lindsay and Emma Thompson. The Book of Mormon London currently stars Blair Gibson as ‘Elder Price’ and Conner Peirson as ‘Elder Cunningham’ alongside Beatrice Penny-Touré, Colin Burnicle, Richard Lloyd-King andEdward Baruwa.
Completing the cast are: Sam Glen, Sanchia Amber Clarke, Charlie Barnard, Char Burnett, Christopher Copeland, Joseph Davenport, Patrick George, George Grayson, Tad Hapaguti, Jed Hoyle, M-Jae Cleopatra Isaac, Isaac J Lewis, George Littell, Shak Mancel James, Jack McNeill, Zachary Miller, Paige Miller, Nyah Nish, Brian O’Muiri, Sean Parkins, Kirk Patterson, Stephen Rolley, Ben Tyler, Nic Vani, Dionne Ward-Anderson, Aisha Williams.
The hit Broadway and West End musical comedy follows a pair of mismatched Mormon boys set from Salt Lake City to Uganda to convert the massed to the Mormon religion.
The Book of Mormon is now booking to 15 June 2024 at the Prince of Wales Theatre in London.
