This sharp-witted satire comes from the genius behind A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum and Broadway legend Nathan Lane. With music by the incomparable Stephen Sondheim, this toad-ally hysterical journey will have you laughing all the way to the underworld.

Making his UK stage debut, Grammy-nominated and SAG Award-winning actor Kevin McHale (Glee) stars as Xanthias. Kevin is no stranger to the spotlight, having appeared in The Office, When We Rise, and American Horror Stories. Offscreen, he co-hosts the hit podcast And That’s What You Really Missed and recently wowed audiences in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee at the Kennedy Center.

Can art save civilisation? Dionysos and his trusty sidekick Xanthias take a leap of faith—straight into Hades! Their mission? To heal a divided world. But first, they must outwit a chorus of amphibian critics who are dead set on keeping the status quo. Sound familiar?

History of the Show

First staged in 1971 in Yale’s Payne Whitney Gymnasium swimming pool—featuring then-students Meryl Streep and Sigourney Weaver—The Frogs has always been a bold experiment in theatre. For its 2004 Broadway revival, Stephen Sondheim added seven new songs, taking this timeless comedy to new heights.
