Elton John, Jake Shears and James Graham’s Olivier nominated musical Tammy Faye will premiere on Broadway next year in the 2024-25 season.

Based on US televangelist Tammy Faye Baker, the show features music by Elton John, lyrics by Scissor Sisters’ Shears and book by James Graham (Dear England, Best of Enemies, Ink). London’s Almeida Theatre Artistic Director Rupert Goold, who directed the original London production will direct with choregrpahy by Lynne Page.

The Broadway creative team will feature: Tom Deering (music supervision, arrangements and additional music); Deering and Mark Dickman (orchestrations); Bunny Christie (scenic design); Katrina Lindsay (costume design); Neil Austin (lighting design); Bobby Aitken (sound design); and Finn Ross (video design).

Tammy Faye had its London premiere at the Almedia theatre in 2022 where it starred Katie Brayben as Tammy Faye and Andrew Rannells (Currently starring in Gutenberg The Musical) as Jim Bakker. It scored solid reviews from the critics.

The show is produced on Broadway by Rocket Stage, Greene Light Stage, and James L. Nederlander.

Venue, dates and casting has yet to be announced, however it will be in a Nederlander venue.
