A Sherlock Carol is heading back to the Marylebone Theatre for a third time, for Christmas 2024.
The smash-hit show is an entertaining mash-up of Charles Dickens and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, and returns to Marylebone Theatre from 29 November 2024 to 5 January 2025.
Written and directed by Mark Shanahan, A Sherlock Carol sees famous detective Sherlock Holmes – whose fictional home was 221B Baker Street, a stone’s throw from the Marylebone Theatre, investigate the mysterious death of Ebenezer Scrooge, the main character from Charles Dickens’ classic novel A Christmas Carol.
A Sherlock Carol previously played at the Marylebone Theatre in 2023 and 2024, and garnered some strong reviews from the critics.
The cast for the Christmas 2024 production is to be announced.
Joining Mark Shanahan in the A Sherlock Carol creative team are: Scenic Design is by Anna Louizos, with Costume Design by Linda Cho, Lighting Design by Rui Rita, and Original Music & Sound Design by John Gromada.
The show is produced by DEM Productions, Fat Goose Productions, and Theatre Nerd Productions.
Artistic Director of Marylebone Theatre, Alexander J Gifford, said in a statement: “A Sherlock Carol is an immensely popular production, which has sold out for two years in a row. We are thrilled to be adding new rows of seats in anticipation of big crowds for Christmas and look forward to having our favourite local detective back in the building.”
A Sherlock Carol is playing at Marylebone Theatre from 29 November 2024 to 5 January 2025.
