Ramin Karimloo stars in the world premiere production of Rumi
Broadway and West End star Ramin Karimloo, Nadim Naaman, Casey Al-Shaqsy and Soophia Foroughi lead a company of sixteen on a powerful journey to discover the story of Rumi; a poet and philosopher whose legacy has inspired millions across the centuries and around the globe.
Combining Middle Eastern authenticity with classical influences and contemporary musical theatre, this grand score is brought to life by a twenty-nine piece orchestra.

Written by Dana Al Fardan and Nadim Naaman, this epic and moving semi-staged musical receives its world premiere at the iconic London Coliseum this November.

What is Rumi: The Musical about?
The legacy of 13th century philosopher and poet Rumi has touched millions around the world and continues to make an impact in its universality and utilitarian nature; a legacy which has lasted eight centuries and has inspired all nationalities, ages, faiths and backgrounds. But how did it all begin?
Rumi: The Musical examines the transformative and powerful relationship between Rumi and his mentor Shams Tabrizi, and how this extraordinary friendship, integral to Rumi’s development as both thinker and writer, impacted the lives of Rumi’s family, friends and followers, contextualising many of his popular words and works.
Who is in the cast of Rumi: The Musical?
The cast is led by Ramin Karimloo (Les Miserables, The Phantom of the Opera) and Nadim Naaman (Broken Wings, The Phantom of the Opera), Casey Al-Shaqsy (The Prince of Egypt) and Soophia Foroughi (The Prince of Egypt, Broken Wings).
Rumi is directed by Bronagh Lagan, with choreography by Anjali Mehra and Middle Eastern Musical Supervision by Maias Alyamani. Based on a Story by Evren Sharma, Rumi: The Musical features music and lyrics by Dana Al Fardan and Nadim Naaman, and book by Nadim Naaman.
