Strictly Come Dancing star Kevin Clifton will appear in the upcoming UK tour of Rock of Ages.
Clifton will reprise the role of Stacee Jaxx at selected performances*, having previously played appeared in the 2018/19 tour. He joins the tour at Liverpool Empire on 13 September 2021. Best known known for being a professional dancer on BBC1’s Strictly Come Dancing, since leaving the show he has appeared in numerous productions including The Wedding Singer and Singin’ in the Rain.
The full cast includes Luke Walsh, Rhiannon Chesterman, Joe Gash, Ross Dawes, Gabriella Williams, Jenny Fitzpatrick, Vas Constanti, Andrew Carthy, Erin Bell, Adam Strong, Joshua Dever, Scott Hayward, Sam Turrell, Phoebe Samuel-Gray, Siobhan James, Morgan Scott and Janine Somcio.
Rock of Ages is the hilarious musical comedy lavished with over 25 classic rock anthems, including ‘Don’t Stop Believin’, ‘We Built This City’, ‘The Final Countdown’, ‘Wanted Dead or Alive’, ‘Here I Go Again’, ‘Can’t Fight this Feeling’ and ‘I Want To Know What Love Is’, played loud and proud by an live band. A global smash-hit with seasons on Broadway, the West End and numerous international and regional tours, it has a Chris D’Arienzo and arrangements and orchestrations by Ethan Popp.
The tour will open at The Alexandra Birmingham from the 19 August 2021 and then travel to Sunderland, Liverpool*, Wimbledon*, Milton Keynes*, Manchester*, Exeter*, Dartford*, Stoke-on-Trent*, Cheltenham*, Hayes, Darlington, Grimsby, Pool, Woking, Llandudno, Crewe, Bromley, Blackpool, Wolverhampton, Peterborough, Hull, Crawley, Edinburgh, Cardiff, Aylesbury, Brighton, Wellingborough and Portsmouth.
The production has direction and choreography by Nick Winston and set and costume design by Morgan Large, lighting Design by Ben Cracknell, sound design by Ben Harrison and Video and Projection design by Duncan McLean.
Clifton will also appear in the upcoming production of Singin’ In The Rain at Sadler’s Wells Theatre in London from 30 July 2021 until 5 September 2021.
