Casting has been announced for The Turbine Theatre’s revival of My Night with Reg, opening at the South London venue this July.
Kevin Elyot’s much-loved, award winning play will feature Stephen K Amos (Benny), James Bradwell (Eric), Edward M Corrie (John), Paul Keating (Guy), Gerard McCarthy (Daniel) and Alan Turkington (Bernie).
Considered a modern classic, the play won both the 1995 Olivier and Evening Standard Award for Best Comedy, after its premiere at the Royal Court and subsequent transfer to the West End. It was most recently revived in London at the Donmar in 2014 starring Julian Ovenden which then transferred to Apollo Theatre for a limited season.
Set in London in the summer of 1985, with the backdrop of the mounting AIDS crisis, Elyot’s deliciously funny and bittersweet comedy captures the fragility of friendship, happiness and life itself.
The production is directed by Matt Ryan with designs by Lee Newby and casting by Will Burton CDG.
My Night with Reg runs from 7 July 2021 until 21 August 2021 at The Turbine Theatre, London.
