Heathers The Musical returns to the West End this June for a strictly limited 12-week Summer season.
Last seen in the West End in 2018 with Carrie Hope Fletcher and Jamie Muscato playing death inducing lovers, the twisted tale of teen drama, friendship and deadly obsession won the What’s On Stage Award for Best New Musical. Widely lauded in the UK press it received 4-star reviews in the Daily Telegraph, Express, The Independent , Metro , The Stage, The Arts Desk and Attitude.
A black comedy based on the 1988 film starring Winona Ryder and Christian Slater, the musical was adapted for the stage by Laurence O’Keefe (School of Rock) and Kevin Murphy. It features direction by Andy Fickman an electrifying choreography by Gary Lloyd.
Following two hit runs in London – first at The Other Palace and then the Theatre Royal Haymarket – the show had been due to tour the UK in 2020 before covid struck. It now returns to the Theatre Royal Haymarket from 21 June 2021 as well as embarking on a new UK tour. The tour will open in Leeds on 28 July 2021 and then travel to Liverpool, Nottingham, Newcastle, Sheffield, Birmingham, Canterbury, Bristol, Belfast, Dublin, Manchester, Milton Keynes, High Wycombe, Cardiff and Edinburgh.
Danny Cohen, President of Access Entertainment, for Theatre Royal Haymarket said: “We are keen to get the doors of the Theatre Royal Haymarket open as soon as possible. The energy of a sold-out performance in front of a live audience is like nothing else and we are delighted to be partnering with Bill Kenwright to achieve that on the very first day the government allows.”
The Theatre Royal Haymarket reopens on 19 May 2021 with socially distanced performances of Love Letters, followed by Heathers and then Only Fools And Horses returns later in the year.
Heathers the Musical is booking from 21 June 2021 until 11 September 2021 the Theatre Royal Haymarket, London.
