& Juliet will resume performances at the Shaftesbury Theatre in London’s West End on 24 September 2021, it has been announced.
Inspired by Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, David West Read’s book gives Juliet an inspiring new story based on the premise ‘What if she didn’t kill herself over a man she’s known for five minutes but instead starts a new life for herself.’
The hit show features re-orchestrated hits from Swedish producer Max Martin including Baby One More Time, Since U Been Gone, Roar, Everybody (Backstreet’s Back), Love Me Like You Do and Can’t Feel My Face.
Casting has not been confirmed, however this is expected in the next few weeks. Olivier Award winner Miriam-Teak Lee originated the lead role of Juliet alongside Cassidy Janson as Anne Hathaway, Oliver Tompsett as William Shakespeare, David Bedella as Lance, Arun Blair-Mangat as May, Jordan Luke Gage as Romeo, Melanie La Barrie as Nurse and Tim Mahendran as Francois.
& Juliet first ran at the Manchester Opera House before transferring to the Shaftesbury Theatre in October 2019. It was forced to close in March 2020 due to covid.
Luke Sheppard directs the production with choreography by Jennifer Weber, set design by Soutra Gilmour, costume design by Paloma Young, musical supervision, orchestration and arrangement by Bill Sherman, lighting by Howard Hudson, sound by Gareth Owen, video design by Andrzej Goulding, musical direction and additional arrangements by Dominic Fallacaro and casting by Stuart Burt.

& Juliet is booking from 24 September 2021 until 13 February 2022 at the Shaftesbury Theatre, London.
