‘You Are Here’ starring Wendi Peters to premiere at Southwark Playhouse

New musicalYou Are Here will premiere at Southwark Playhouse this April – with or without an audience.

Written by Brian Hill with music and lyrics by Neil Bartram, the musical follows a suburban housewife who, after watching the moon landing in 1969, suddenly realises some people lead exciting lives. Alone in a fast-changing world, she finds a series of unexpected encounters can turn one small step into a giant, life-changing leap.

Coronation Street favourite Wendi Peters, most recently seen on stage in West End show Big The Musical and White Christmas at the Dominion Theatre, will lead the cast with further casting to be announced. Peters was due to appear in a new adaptation of classic comedy Monsieur Chase by John Cleese called Bang Bang! prior to the pandemic however it is unknown if she is still attached to the project.

You Are Here is directed by Matthew Rankcom with musical direction by Laura Bangay, set and costume design by Libby Todd, movement direction by Amie Hibbert, lighting by Jai Morjaria and sound design by Charles Parry.

The show runs from 29 April 2021 until 22 May 2021, with tickets on sale now. Seats are currently on sale for in-person shows, and, if restrictions do not allow these to occur, all performances will be streamed on the corresponding dates. Live performances will be presented to social distanced audiences.

Either way – you’ll be able to see the show on any date you book for, either in-person or via a screen.
