EastEnders Samantha Womack will star as Morticia Addams in the 2020 UK & Ireland tour of ‘The Addams Family’.
Womack, most recently seen in the stage adaptation of psychological thriller The Girl On The Train, previously played the role of Morticia in the 2017 premiere touring production.
Also joining the cast from the 2017 production will be Cameron Blakely (known for his 2-year stint playing Thenardier in Les Misérables), reprising the role of Gomez Addams.
Further casting will be announced at a later date.
The musical comedy features an original story by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, the creators of Jersey Boys, and is based on the characters created by Charles Addams.
The show has music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa, known for his work on Big Fish, Aaron Sorkin’s play The Farnsworth Invention and The Wild Party.
Matthew White (Little Shop of Horrors, Top Hat) will direct the production, having previously directed the 2017 tour.
The 2020 Tour will open at the Newcastle Theatre Royal on 30 July 2020 and will then travel to Liverpool, Dublin, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Birmingham, Northampton, Wimbledon, Bristol, Nottingham, Woking, Bromley, Salford and Oxford.
