Joel Montague will join the West End production of ‘Waitress‘ at the Adelphi Theatre in the London.

Montague will play the role of Ogie from 2 December 2019, assuming the role from YouTube star Joe Sugg who has performed the role since 9 September.

Joel arrives at the Adelphi direct from playing ‘Mendel’ in Falsettos at The Other Palace Theatre. Other West End credits include School Of Rock (Gillian Lynne), Funny Girl (Savoy), Urine Town (Apollo) and Billy Elliot (Victoria Palace). Touring credits include Fat Friends, Rocky Horror Show, Sister Act and The Producers.

Joel Montague will join lead cast members Lucie Jones as Jenna, Hannah Tointon as Dawn, Sandra Marvin as Becky, David Hunter as Dr. Pomatter, Tamlyn Henderson as Earl and Andrew Boyer as Old Joe.

As previously announced, Sara Bareilles will temporarily join the cast on 27 January 2020 in the lead role of Jenna alongside Gavin Creel as Dr Pomatter. The pair both appeared in the Broadway production of the musical in New York at the beginning of the year.

Lucie Jones and David Hunter will rejoin the cast of Waitress on 9 March 2020.

Waitress tells the story of Jenna, a young woman whose talent for baking might be the path to a new life.

Waitress is booking until 28 March 2020 at the Adelphi Theatre, London.
