New ‘Monopoly’ immersive game experience in development

Londoners get ready for the latest immersive experience as classic board game Monopoly is set to take on a whole new form.

Theatre producer Selladoor Worldwide have announced a new partnership with Global entertainment company Hasbro to develop an immersive experience based on the classic board game Monopoly.

Due to open at a secret location in London in 2020, the Monopoly experience is expected to incorporate a 75-minute segment featuring challenges for teams to complete together in order to move along the Monopoly ‘board’ and buy property.

After launching with Monopoly, one of the worlds most popular games, Hasbro and Selladoor plan to roll out other immersive experiences utilising the wider Hasbro brand portfolio. So, we can expect to see immersive experiences inspired by Nerf, My Little Pony, Power Rangers, Transformers and Peppa Pig.

Heading up this new division at Selladoor will be industry expert Julia Posen, Head of Development, who previously ran the licensing for Walker Books and BBC Worldwide Childrens.

David HutchinsonCEOSelladoor Worldwide said, We’ve been working for over a year with Hasbro on this exciting partnership, developing our concept and vision to bring one of the world’s biggest board game brands to life in this thrilling experiential theatre landscape.
