As it celebrates its 300th performances at the Phoenix Theatre in London, Tony and Olivier Award winning musical Come From Away announces it is now booking until 23 May 2020.
The feel-good musical recounts the true story of how residents of a small Canadian town welcomed 7,000 stranded air-passengers following the 9/11 terrorist attacks and subsequent closure of US airspace.
The ensemble cast includes Wicked’s Rachel Tucker, Jenna Boyd, Nathanael Campbell, Clive Carter, Mary Doherty, Robert Hands, Helen Hobson, Jonathan Andrew Hume, Harry Morrison, Emma Salvo, David Shannon and Cat Simmons.
In addition to winning four Oliver Awards in London including Best New Musical, the critically acclaimed show has scooped awards all across North America including the Tony Award for “Best Direction of a Musical”, 5 Outer Critics Circle Awards (NYC), 3 Drama Desk Awards (NYC), 4 Helen Hayes Awards (Washington DC), 4 Los Angeles Drama Critics’ Circle Awards, 4 Gypsy Rose Lee Awards (Seattle), 6 San Diego Critics Circle Awards, 3 Toronto Theatre Critics Awards, 3 Dora Awards (Toronto) and the 2017 Jon Kaplan Audience Choice Award (Toronto).
Come From Away features a book, music and lyrics by Irene Sankoff and David Hein and is directed by Christopher Ashley, with musical staging by Kelly Devine, music supervision and arrangements by Ian Eisendrath and orchestrations by August Eriksmoen.
