ABOUT An Act of God

Hailed by the New York Times as ‘divinely funny’, join award-winning comedian Zoe Lyons in the European premiere of An Act of God – a new play inspired by a Twitter account.

Written by David Javerbaum, winner of 11 Emmy Awards for his work on TV’s ‘The Daily Show with Jon Stewart’ and directed by Benji Sperring (‘Toxic Avenger the Musical’, ‘Night of the Living Dead’), don’t miss this Broadway smash-hit as it comes to London, with tailor made material for a British audience.

An Act of God will run from 27 November 2019 until 12 January 2020 at The Vaults Theatre, London.

WHAT’S THE STORY?

In this very alternative Christmas message, An Act of God sees a dissatisfied deity, weary of the original Ten Commandments, delivering a new version: a fresh set of rules for the modern world.

This sinfully funny comedy delivers a new meaning to divine intervention as The “One” aptly supported by the Angels Gabriel and Michael, gives the first and last word on everything mankind has wrought on the planet.

WHO’S IN IT? AN ACT OF GOD CAST

The role of God will be played by Zoe Lyons, an award-winning British comedian and actor known for ‘Mock the Week’ and radio shows ‘Just A Minute’, ‘The Now Show’ and ‘The News Quiz’ .

The Angel Gabriel will be played by Matt Tedford, best known as the character ‘Margaret Thatcher Queen of Soho’. Michael will be played by Tom Bowen, previously starring in Dirty Dancing The Musical.
