A major revival of Richard Cameron’s hit play The Glee Club will run at the Kiln Theatre in London and include a UK tour.
Cameron’s raucous comedy about friendship and divided loyalty in a rough and rugged world, is set in the 1960s and follows a group of miners who are preparing to perform a local gala concert.
The production will feature the romantic songs of the 1950’s performed live on stage.
Directed by Kate Wasserberg, the production will open at Cast, Doncaster on 28 February 2020, before touring to Mold, Lichfield, Malvern, Bury St Edmunds, Newcastle, Guildford, Oldham, Leeds, York and London, where it plays at London’s Kiln Theatre from 4 to 27 June 2020.
The show first opened at the Bush Theatre in 2002 before transferring to the West End.
The Glee Club is produced by Out of Joint, Kiln Theatre and Cast, in Doncaster
Casting and full creative team are to be announced.
