Tina the Musical to extend West End booking period to June 2020

A new booking period has been announced for Tina – The Tina Turner Musical at the Aldwych Theatre in London.

Two hundred thousand tickets have been released today with musical now booking until 27 June 2020.

Directed by Phyllida Lloyd (Mamma Mia!), the show tells Tina Turner’s story from humble beginnings in Nutbush Tennessee, to her transformation into the global Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll.

Set to Turner’s classic hits the musical currently stars Nkeki Obi-Melekwe and Ashley Zhangazha as Tina & Ike Turner, alongside Madeline Appiah, Irene Myrtle Forrester, Howard Gossington, Francesca Jackson, Ava Brennan, Jammy Kasongo, Edward Bourne and Oscar Batterham.

It was recently announced that Aisha Jawando, who originated the role of Tina’s sister and currently performs the role of Tina at some performances, will take on the lead role from 8 October.
