Sara Bareilles smash-hit musical Waitress continues its London run with the announcement it is now booking until 4 January 2020 at Adelphi Theatre.
Following recent cast changes the show has seen an uplift in ticket sales with theatre-goers commenting on the natural chemistry between actors Lucie Jones (Rent, Les Misérables, Legally Blonde) and David Hunter (Kinky Boots) in the central roles of Jenna and Dr. Pomatter.
The casting of Blake Harrison (The Inbetweeners, A Very English Scandal) in the role of Ogie has also been a resounding success with the actor brining new wit and energy to the role perviously place by American actor Jack McBrayer (NBC’s 30 Rock).
Ex- Pussycat Dolls singer Ashley Roberts comes to end of her summer season in the role of Dawn with Laura Baldwin returning to the role on 12 August 2019.
The stellar cast of Waitress also features Marisha Wallace (Dreamgirls) as Becky, Peter Hannah as Earl and Shaun Prendergast as Old Joe
Waitress tells the story of Jenna, a waitress and expert pie-maker who dreams her way out of a loveless marriage. With a surprise pregnancy and a hot new doctor in town, life gets complicated, but with the support of her co-workers she might just overcome life’s unexpected challenges.
The Broadway production recently announced it will close on 5 January 2020, after 33 previews and 1,544 regular performances.
