Blake Harrison (The Inbetweeners, A Very English Scandal) will join the West End cast of Waitress from 17June.
Harrison is best known for his role as Neil Sutherland in the multi award-winning E4 series The Inbetweeners. Since the series wrapped in 2010 he has appeared in The Inbetweeners Movie, The Inbetweeners 2, Prime Suspect 1973, The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret, E4 series’ Tripped and the feature film Dad’s Army.
Most recently he garnered praise for BBC miniseries A Very English Sex Scandal starring Hugh Grant and Ben Whishaw and the lead role in The End Of The Pier at The Park theatre, London.
Harrison will take on the role of Ogie currently played by NBC’s 30 Rock alum Jack McBrayer.
Also joining the cast will be Lucie Jones (Rent, Les Misérables, Legally Blonde) and ex- Pussycat Dolls singer Ashley Roberts in the roles of Jenna and Dawn. David Hunter, Marisha Wallace, Peter Hannah and Shaun Prendergast continue in their respective roles.
Waitress tells the story of Jenna, a waitress and expert pie-maker who dreams her way out of a loveless marriage. With a surprise pregnancy and a hot new doctor in town, life gets complicated, but with the support of her co-workers she might just overcome life’s unexpected challenges.
Waitress is booking until 4 January 2020 at the Adelphi Theatre, London.
