Hairspray on Tour
Brenda Edwards and Paul Kerryson’s hit production of Hairspray is setting sail on its second major national UK and Ireland tour in 2027.
Brenda Edwards (Loose Women, Paddington The Musical) will reprise her directorial role alongside Paul Kerryson with choreography by Olivier Award winner Drew McOnie (Jesus Christ Superstar).
Features infectiously feel-good songs like ‘Good Morning Baltimore,’ ‘You Can’t Stop the Beat’ and ‘Big, Blonde and Beautiful’, this inspirational, fun-loving and fabulously uplifting musical sensation is back and bigger than ever.
British actor and comedian Neil Hurst will return to play the iconic role of Edna Turnblad. His recent theatre credits include The Full Monty tour as well as being an award-winning pantomime favourite headlining the annual panto at Nottingham Theatre Royal.
The 2027 Hairspray UK Tour begins in Manchester in July 2027.
Good Morning Baltimore
Based on John Waters’s cult movie, Hairspray centres around heroine Tracy Turnblad who has big dreams to dance her way onto national TV, and into the heart of teen idol Link Larkin. When Tracy becomes a local star, she is able to use her newfound fame to fight for liberation, tolerance, and interracial unity in Baltimore. But can she win equality – and Link’s heart – without denting her ’do?
