Cirque du Soleil will return to London’s Royal Albert Hall in 2020 with the European premiere of LUZIA.
Drawing on both traditional and contemporary Mexican culture, Cirque du Soleil’s LUZIA is a captivating new show filled with magic and awe-inspiring acrobatics.
Running from 12 January 2020 to 16 February 2020, the show features a cast of 44 artists performing a variety of acrobatic and artistic scenes as well as water effects – a first for a Cirque du Soleil show.
Jaw-dropping highlights include a male contortionist skilfully twisting his body in the world’s most unimaginable positions, a powerful Aerial Straps specialist defying the laws of gravity at the centre of a cenote (natural sinkhole), a juggler tossing seven pins at breakneck speed, and two football freestylers deftly mixing street dance with mind-blowing ball manipulation.
LUZIA is the circus company’s 38th show; it premiered in the company’s specially designed big top tent in 2016 and is currently touring north America.
Cirque du Soleil’s production of Toruk, which is based on the Avatar film franchise, will play the UK later this year, opening in Manchester in June before running at the O2 in London.
Cirque du Soleil – LUZIA is booking from 12 January 2020 until 16 February 2020 at the Royal Albert Hall, London.
