Bush Theatre / Daniel Bailey appointed Associate Director

Daniel Bailey has been appointed Associate Director of the Bush Theatre in London.

Bailey is currently Associate Director at Birmingham Repertory Theatre, originally joining The REP as part of the Regional Theatre Young Director Scheme and where his work has included Blue/Orange, ConcubineStuffI Knew YouAbueloJump! We’ll Catch YouMade In India/Britain and Exhale.

He has previously been Resident Director at the National Theatre Studio, Associate Artist at Stratford Royal East and Resident Assistant Director at The Finborough Theatre.

His previous theatre directing credits include: My Darling Wife (Talawa Theatre Company), PreJudgment Day and Covered (New Heritage Theatre). 

Bailey joins the Bush Theatre’s new Artistic Director Lynette Linton with immediate effect and will be joined by a second Associate Director who will be announced later in the year.

Daniel Bailey said today ‘I’m excited about starting this new adventure at the Bush, seeing in this new era with Lynette, and being part of the Bush family. As a West Londoner it’s good to be back home!

Bailey replaces Omar Elerian who has held the position since 2012.
