Smash star Katherine McPhee, who plays Jenna in the West End production, will host the first Waitress Cast Album Karaoke post-show event alongside Denise Van Outen.
Audience members can sign up before the show for the chance to sing one minute of any song from Waitress – live on stage at the Adelphi and accompanied by the show’s musical director Katharine Woolley.
The first event will take place on Tuesday 19 February 2019. Further details, including the host, for the next Cast Album Karaoke night on Monday 18 March will be announced next month.
The Tony-nominated musical began previews last week and will have an official opening on 7 March 2019 at the Adelphi Theatre in London. The show recently extended its booking period to 19 October 2019.
The highly anticipated production also features Emmy-nominee Jack McBrayer (30 Rock), Marisha Wallace (Dreamgirls), Laura Baldwin, Peter Hannah, David Hunter (Kinky Boots) and Shaun Prendergast.
Waitress is based on the 2007 film written by Adrienne Shelly and follows Jenna, an expert baker and waitress who dreams of escaping her loveless marriage.
The production has a book by Jessie Nelson, music and lyrics by 7-time Grammy® nominee Sara Bareilles an is directed by Diane Paulus.
Waitress is currently booking until 19 October 2019 at the Adelphi Theatre, London.
