Cameron Mackintosh presents a star-studded production of Les Misérables – The Staged Concert at the Sondheim Theatre.

Following a spectacular sell-out production at the Gielgud Theatre in 2019, Les Misérables – The Staged Concert returns for a limited season this Summer.

Led by Jon Robyns as Jean Valjean, Bradley Jaden as Javert, Lucie Jones as Fantine and Shan Ako as Éponine alongside a company of over 50 actors and musicians.

A compelling story of broken dreams and unrequited love, passion, sacrifice and redemption, Les Misérables is a timeless musical testament to the survival of the human spirit against all of the odds. Featuring the songs “I Dreamed A Dream”, “Bring Him Home”, “One Day More” and “On My Own” – Les Misérables is the show to end all shows.

What’s the Story?

Set against the backdrop of 19th-century France, Les Misérables tells the story of ex-convict Jean Valjean and his quest for redemption.

Having served 17 years in prison for stealing a loaf of bread for his starving niece, a kindly Bishop inspires Valjean to begin a new life.

Breaking parole to start a new life, Valjean is hunted for decades by the ruthless policeman Javert.

When Valjean agrees to care for factory worker Fantine’s young daughter, Cosette, their lives change forever.

The principal cast includes Jon Robyns as Jean Valjean, Bradley Jaden as Javert, Lucie Jones as Fantine, Shan Ako as Éponine, Harry Apps as Marius, Gerard Carey as Thénardier and Josefina Gabrielle as Madame Thénardier.

Creative Team

Cameron Mackintosh’s production of Les Misérables is written by Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg and is based on the novel by Victor Hugo. It has music by Claude-Michel Schönberg, lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer and original French text by Alain Boublil and Jean-Marc Natel with additional material by James Fenton and adaptation by Trevor Nunn and John Caird.
