Eugenius! shelves West End transfer

The planned West End transfer of musical comedy Eugenius! has been cancelled.

According to a statement from producers, key investors had pulled out of the show making the West End transfer non-viable.

Producer Kevin Wood said: “The past few days have been spent frantically trying to replace them but time has run out. In the New Year we will take stock and come again.

“We have spent too much time and money on this project to just let it die.”

Eugenius! had been due to follow Foxfinder into the Ambassadors Theatre which itself closes six weeks into a seventeen-week run. No news on what show will now run at the theatre over the Christmas period.

The musical comedy is about a geeky schoolboy called Eugene who dreams of getting his fictional superhero made into a Hollywood film and finding true love. The show has book, music and lyrics by Ben Adams and Chris Wilkins.

Eugenius! the Musical is currently playing until 21 October 2018 at The Other Palace Theatre, London.

Ticket holders for the Ambassadors Theatre run should contact their point of sale.
