Almeida Theatre’s acclaimed production of The Twilight Zone will open at The Ambassadors Theatre in March next year.
Anne Washburn’s adaptation of the classic 1960s CBS series weaves several episodes from Rod Serling’s wildly popular science-fiction anthology series into one creepy, sweeping narrative.
The Twilight Zone is fondly remembered for introducing many Americans to the sci-fi genre with a number of episodes making their mark in television history as pop culture icons.
The series draws comparisons to the modern Channel 4/Netflix series Black Mirror: each episode posed moral questions through a series of eerie, often shocking narratives which almost always contained a stunning twist.
Veronica Hart, Executive Vice President, CBS Consumer Products said “The play captures the thought-provoking, comedic and unnerving essence of the original Twilight Zone, allowing these powerful stories to be enjoyed in an entirely new way by a whole new audience.”
Directed by Richard Jones, The Twilight Zone has design by Paul Steinberg, with costume design by Nicky Gillibrand, lighting design by Mimi Jordan Sherin, and D.M Wood, composition and sound by Sarah Angliss, sound by Christopher Shutt, movement direction by Aletta Collins, casting by Julia Horan, and illusions by Richard Wiseman and Will Houstoun.
Casting to be announced.
The Twilight Zone is booking from 4 Mary 2019 until 1 June 2019 at The Ambassadors Theatre, London.
