‘Dear Evan Hansen’ / London cast announced

Sam Tutty, Lucy Anderson and Doug Colling will lead the West End cast for the London premiere of DEAR EVAN HANSEN at the Noel Coward Theatre.

The highly anticipated announcement from Producer Stacey Mindich will see recent musical theatre graduates Tutty, Anderson and Colling make their West End debuts as Evan Hansen, Zoe Murphy and Connor Murphy respectively.

Joining the London stage premiere will be Rebecca McKinnis (Everybody’s Talking About Jamie) as Heidi Hansen, Lauren Ward (Caroline or Change) as Cynthia Murphy, Rupert Young (High Society) as Larry Murphy, Jack Loxton (The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time) as Jared Kleinman and Nicole Raquel Dennis (Waitress, Dreamgirls) as Alana Beck.

Completing the cast are Tricia Adele-Turner, David Breeds, Haydn Cox, Natalie Kassanga, Hannah Lindsey, Mark Peachey, Courtney Stapleton, Alex Thomas-Smith and James Winter. Marcus Harman will play the role of Evan Hansen at certain performances

Stacey Mindich said “It’s been a dream of ours to bring Dear Evan Hansen across the pond, and I’m just thrilled that we’ve found the perfect cast to fulfill this dream and introduce this original musical – and it’s very real and very universal themes – to London,” Mindich went on to say “the entire casting process was a joy for the creative team and me, as we met so many amazingly talented actors who were already familiar with the show and its score.”

The show is a contemporary musical about a socially awkward teenager, who overcomes his inability to connect with people and make friends by fabricating a story about a classmate who has suddenly died.

DEAR EVAN HANSEN opened on Broadway in 2016 to widespread critical acclaim, winning a Grammy Award and six Tony Awards including Best Original Score for Benji Pasek and Justin Paul, Best Book of a Musical for Steven Levenson, and Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Musical for Ben Platt.

DEAR EVAN HANSEN is booking from 29 October 2019 until 2 May 2020 at the Noël Coward Theatre, London.
