Further casting has been announced for upcoming West End production of True West, set to star Kit Harington and Johnny Flynn at the Vaudeville Theatre.
Sam Shepard’s play, which was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in 1983, is about a Hollywood writer working on his latest blockbuster script, when his unruly brother appears and convinces the producer to make a different film based on his idea instead.
American actor Madeleine Potter (Broken Glass, Tricycle Theatre) and Donald Sage Mackay (‘Modern Family‘) will star alongside Harington and Flynn. They are expected to play the roles Mom and producer Saul Kimmer, respectively.
Harington, best-known for playing Jon Snow in the hit series Game of Thrones, plays screenwriter Austin while Johnny Flynn, known for appearing in the Netflix series Lovesick, will play brother Lee.
Harington was last on stage in the title role of Jamie Lloyd’s production of Christopher Marlowe’s Doctor Faustus whilst Flynn recently garnered rave reviews for his performance in the Broadway run of Hangmen.
True West will be the first UK production of the Pulitzer Prize-winner’s work since his death last summer.
True West runs is booking from 23 November 2018 until 16 February 2019 at the Vaudeville Theatre, London
