Broadway and West End star Lea Salonga is heading to the UK for a series of concerts in 2019.
The pitch-perfect singer and actress shot to fame for her portrayal of ‘Kim’ in Cameron Mackintosh’s original production of Miss Saigon for which she won the Olivier and Tony Award.
Salonga’s awe-inspiring audition for the role at the tender age of 17 is still a major hit on youtube.
The Disney Legend, who is known for her roles as the singing voices for Princess Jasmine in Aladdin and Fa Mulan in Mulan and Mulan II, has performed in numerous musicals including the roles of Éponine and Fantine in Les Misérables, Grizabella in Cats Flower Drum Song, Allegiance and most recently Once on This Island.
Salonga last appeared on the West End at the Prince Edward Theatre for the sold-out Miss Saigon 25th Anniversary production. The multi-million selling recording artist is also a judge on the Philipine’s version of ‘The Voice’.
Her first ever solo U.K. tour will include dates in Manchester (26 Feb), Birmingham (1 March) and Cardiff (4 March) and a show at The London Palladium on 27 February 2019.
