Shameless‘ David Threlfall and Rufus Hound One Man Two Guvnors (NT/West End) will reprise their roles as Don Quixote and Sancho Panza in the West End transfer of Angus Jackson’s RSC production of Don Quixote.
James Fenton’s triumphant adaptation of Cervantes’ classic novel previously ran at the Swan Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon in 2016 to mark the 400th anniversary of Cervantes’ death.
After a lifetime of reading books and hopelessly unprepared, the story follows Don Quixote and his loyal servant Sancho Panza on their hilarious quest across Spain to defend the helpless and vanquish the wicked.
The full company comprises Will Bliss, Raphael Bushay, Farrell Cox, John Cummins, Richard Dempsey, Ruth Everett, Gabriel Fleary, Richard Leeming, Nicholas Lumley, Natasha Magigi, Tom McCall, Joshua McCord, Bathsheba Piepe, Rosa Robson, Timothy Speyer and Eleanor Wyld.
The RSC’s production of this legendary comic novel is told by a company of 20 actors accompanied by a band of live musicians.
Don Quixote is directed by Angus Jackson with design by Robert Innes Hopkins and music composed by Grant Olding.
Don Quixote is booking from 27 October 2018 until 2 February 2019 at the Garrick Theatre, London.
