The Vicar of Dibley’s Dawn French will star as The Wicked Queen in Snow White at the London Palladium this Christmas.
Dawn French, who is making her pantomime debut, is an original member of The Comic Strip, but is best known as one half of comedy duo French and Saunders. The actor, writer and comedian was last on the West End stage in October 2016 with her acclaimed one woman show 30 Million Minutes at London’s Vaudeville Theatre.
In what promises to be another spectacular Christmas show from Qdos Entertainment, Snow White will see the return of comic Julian Clary as The Man in The Mirror, ventriloquist Paul Zerdin as Muddles, Nigel Havers (Chariots of Fire) as The Understudy and Gary Wilmot as Mrs Crumble.
Joining the star line up this year will be former BBC Strictly Come Dancing professional dancers Vincent Simone & Flavia Cacace-Mistry as the The King and The Queen.
The Magnificent Seven will be played by Josh Bennett, Simeon Dyer, Craig Garner, Ben Goffe, Jamie John, Blake Lisle and Andrew Martin.
Final casting for the role of the Prince and title role of Snow White as well as members of the ensemble will be announced at a later date.
Snow White will be directed by Michael Harrison, with set design by Ian Westbrook, costumes by Hugh Durrant, visual special effects by The Twins FX, lighting by Ben Cracknell and original music by Gary Hind.
Qdos Entertainment are the world’s biggest pantomime producer, their previous productions at the London Palladium include Dick Whittington starring Charlie Stemp & Elaine Paige, and Cinderella with Natasha Barnes and Paul O’Grady.
Julian Clary, Nigel Havers and Paul Zerdin previously starred in both Cinderella and Dick Whittington at the London Palladium.
Booking for Snow White will open Friday 4 May 2018.
Snow White will run from 8 December 2018 until 13 January 2019 at the London Palladium.
