Production images of Uncle Vanya starring Toby Jones and Richard Armitage have been released following its premiere at the Harold Pinter Theatre in London.
Now open to 5-star reviews, Ian Rickson’s production, which is a new adaptation by Conor McPherson of the Anton Checkov classic features Jones in the title role and Armitage playing Astrov.
Described as a ‘Vanya for our times’ (Evening Standard) with a cast that proves itself to be a ‘store-house of talent’ (The Telegraph) Uncle Vanya plays a strictly limited run at the Harold Pinter until 2 May 2020.
The cast also features Rosalind Eleazar (The Starry Messenger) as Yelena, Aimee Lou Wood (Sex Education) as Sonya, the Emmy Award-winning Anna Calder-Marshall (Male of the Species) as Nana, Dearbhla Molloy (The Ferryman) as Grandmaman, Peter Wight(The Birthday Party) as Telegin and Ciarán Hinds (Translations, Game of Thrones, Girl from the North Country) as Professor Serebryakov.
