Anita Dobson to star in Katy Brand’s 3Women

EastEnders alum Anita Dobson will lead the cast of comedian Katy Brand’s debut play 3Women.

Famed for playing Angie Watts on the long-running soap EastEnders, Anita Dobson is also an Olivier award winning actress with numerous stage roles to her name including Wicked (Apollo), Follies (Royal Albert Hall), Calendar Girls (Noel Coward), Thoroughly Modern Millie (Shaftesbury), Chicago (Adelphi) and Frozen (National Theatre).

Katy Brand’s play explores the relationships between three generations of the same family, brought together in one hotel room, in a darkly comic and pertinent exploration of what it means to be a woman.

Katy Brand said, “3Women is a play I have been hoping to write for several years, but now that feminism and women’s rights are at the very forefront of the global conversation, I wanted to really explore those issues from the point of view of three generations of women, and how they interact and intersect within the same family.”

The production will also star Topsy Turvy actress Debbie Chazen whose extensive credits include The Girls (Phoenix), In Basildon (Royal Court), The Cherry Orchard (Sheffield Crucible) and Cinderella (Old Vic); and Maisie Richardson-Seller best known for playing Korr Sella in Star Wars VII.

Completing the cast is Oliver Greenall who will make his West End debut as the ‘Waiter’. Oliver plays series regular Jordan Whitehead in ITV’s The Loch, and has featured in BBC series Armchair Detectives.

3Women is directed by Michael Yale, with designs by Zahra Mansouri, lighting by Nic Farman, and is produced by Stage Traffic Productions.
