Broadway’s The King and I confirmed for London in 2018

Bartlett Sher’s acclaimed Lincoln Centre Theater production of The King and I will transfer to London’s West End in March 2018.

The celebrated production will see West End debuts for Broadway musical royalty Kelli O’Hara, who reprises her Tony Award-winning role of Anna Leonowens, together with film star, Oscar and Tony nominee Ken Watanabe, who will star in the title role of The King of Siam.

One of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s finest works, The King and I boasts a score featuring beloved classics “Getting To Know You,” “Hello Young Lovers,” “Shall We Dance,” “I Have Dreamed” and “Something Wonderful”.

The King and I will begin previews from 21 June 2018 at the London Palladium, with opening night on 3 July 2018.

The creative team on The King and I will include Tony Award winning costume design Catherine Zuber, set designer Michael Yeargan, lighting designer Donald Holder and sound designer Scott Lehrer.

Choreography by Christopher Gattelli will be based on the original choreography by Jerome Robbins.
