Barry Humphries returns to the stage with Weimar Cabaret at London’s Barbican Centre.
Australian icon Barry Humphries curates, presents and performs the degenerate music of Berlin’s Weimar Republic (1920s-30s) including jazz, cabaret, tango and Broadway-musical style pieces.
The hedonistic partying and social revolution of this era is re-awakened in this full-throttle concert featuring international cabaret sensation Meow Meow and accompanied by Aurora Orchestra, led by Satu Vänskä.
Hear songs by Kurt Weill including The Threepenny Opera’s Pirate Jenny, see Barry Humphries and Meow Meow sing the duet Mousie and dance a tango, and join Barry as he rediscovers the lost music of Krenek, Schulhoff, Toch, Brand, Grosz and more.
A comedian, actor, satirist, artist and author, Humphries is best known for playing legendary alter egos Dame Edna Everage and Sir Les Patterson.
Barry Humphries Weimar Cabaret will run from 11 July 2018 until 29 July 2018 at the Barbican Theatre, London.

Meow Meow returns for More Pandemonium this Christmas
International cabaret artiste Meow Meow returns to London this Christmas with a special performance at Royal Festival Hall.
Supported by London Philharmonic Orchestra, pianist Ben Dawson and conducted by Benjamin Northey, Meow Meow will delight audiences with a concert of cabaret and song from Grieg to Gershwin, Weill to Warren.
Meow Meow said
"After the delights of last year’s wild collaboration with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, I thought it would just seem rude not to create even MORE fully-orchestrated Christmas mayhem this year! It’s becoming a seasonal tradition of mine to rock the Royal Festival Hall to the rafters, with the most sublime orchestral musicians, for one amazing night of utter pandemonium with a festive twist.
More Pandemonium will celebrate an array of music from tangos by Astor Piazzolla, the smoky cabaret of Kurt Weill right through to Radiohead, Amanda Palmer and some festive favourites, bringing a little twist of untraditional seasonal cheer.
The performance continues Meow’s UK tour, which follows with performances in Manchester, Milton Keynes and a residency at Shakespeare’s Globe, where she will bring her heart-wrenching festive extravaganza to the candlelit Sam Wanamaker Playhouse. In addition to her UK tour, Meow Meow will support Australian icon Barry Humphries in July next year when he returns with Weimar Cabaret at London's Barbican Centre.
More Pandemonium will run on 4 December 2017 at Royal Festival Hall, London.
