Disney’s new musical Frozen announces Broadway dates

Disney’s highly anticipated new musical Frozen has confirmed dates for its Broadway run.

The new stage musical will open at Broadway’s St. James Theatre on 22 March 2018, with previews beginning on 22 February 2018.

Directed by Michael Grandage, the new musical has received glowing reviews following its out-of-town try out in Denver.

Disney’s Frozen is the first and only full-length stage musical of the much loved animated film. Told in two acts, the show expands upon and deepens the plot of the origanl film through new songs and story material from the film’s creators. The show features twice as much music as the beloved 2013 animated film.

The production features a book by Jennifer Lee and score by Oscar winners Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez. Frozen features choreography by Tony winner Rob Ashford, set and costume by Christopher Oram and direction by Tony winner Michael Grandage.

Frozen stars Broadway veterans Caissie Levy as Elsa and Patti Murin as Anna.

They are joined by Jelani Alladin as Kristoff, Greg Hildreth as Olaf, John Riddle as Hans, Robert Creighton as Weselton, Kevin Del Aguila as Oaken, Timothy Hughes as Pabbie, Andrew Pirozzi as Sven, with Audrey Bennett and Mattea Conforti rotating as Young Anna along with Brooklyn Nelson and Ayla Schwartz rotating as Young Elsa. Alyssa Fox is the Elsa standby, Aisha Jackson is the Anna standby and Adam Jepsen is the Sven standby.

Frozen begins performances on 22 March 2018 at the St. James Theatre, New York.
