Strictly Come Dancing Judge Craig Revel Horwood will join the West End production of Annie The Musical.
Horwood replaces Miranda Hart in the role of Miss Hannigan for a 10-week stint from 18 September 2017.
Better known as a judge on long-running television series BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing, Craig’s West End theatre credits include the role of Munkustrap in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Cats, Dance Captain in Miss Saigon and the role of Harry in Crazy for You.
Due to his Strictly Come Dancing commitments he will not perform in Annie on Saturdays.
Revel Horwood previously played the role of Miss Hannigan to widespread acclaim in Nikolai Foster’s 2015 touring production of Annie.
Craig Revel Horwood said: “I am so pleased to be returning to the West End, especially to a role I had such a brilliant time performing on tour. Miss Hannigan is evil, sassy and fab-u-lous. It will be a real challenge for me not to take her man-hungry, wicked ways to the Strictly judging panel each Saturday night – though I am sure my fellow judges will keep me in check! I can’t wait to get started.”
